Forge Lightning Talks: Troubleshooting and Debugging Forge Design Automation Jobs

Thanks to the newly released Forge Design Automation API (FDA), the automation capabilities of AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit and 3dsMax are now available as cloud services. Customers can leverage Design Automation service to run addins which read and modify Revit models in the cloud, rather than running those jobs locally on desktop Revit. In most cases, customers would like to convert their existing addins which work for desktop Revit into addins which can run on Forge Design Automation service. However, testing and debugging a cloud app brings new challenges that don't happen on the desktop. We will teach you how to figure out the most common problems in the cloud and solutions for them. We will also demo DesignAutomationHandler, a tool to test and debug Revit addin locally in a simulated cloud environment of FDA. Author: Lijuan Zhu
