UV Bonding of Opaque Components With New Adhesive Technology

When two non-transparent materials are to be bonded, curing with light only is impossible. Thanks to preactivation technology, light curing can be leveraged for opaque materials. In this case, the adhesive is first irradiated (preactivated). The adhesive still remains liquid for typically 20 seconds, allowing the opaque components to be joined and aligned. After this so-called open time, the adhesive automatically reaches initial strength within a few minutes, enabling the parts to be transferred to the assembly line -- and final strength within 72 hours.
