https://www.renishaw.com/revo How it works: REVO® 5-axis multi-sensor system. Watch this video for an overview of REVO’s technical features. Unlike conventional CMM systems, the REVO system uses synchronised motion and 5-axis measurement technology to minimise the dynamic effects of coordinate measurement machine (CMM) motion at ultra high measurement speeds. This is achieved by letting the REVO-2 head do the fast demanding motion while the CMM moves in a linear slow fashion. The use of a flexible tip-sensing probe further adds to the system's accuracy and performance. The removable probe system offers five specialised sensors including scanning, surface finish and structured light measurement, which used in conjunction with a low-cost changer, provide added flexibility and reduce capital expenditure.

TONiC™: https://www.renishaw.com/tonic Learn how to install the TONiC super-compact digital encoder readhead. Please refer to the relevant TONiC installation guide for more information. The TONiC encoder series is Renishaw’s super-compact, non-contact incremental optical encoder that offers speeds up to 10 m/s and, when combined with the Ti interface, resolutions down to 1 nm for both linear and rotary applications. TONiC systems are quick and simple to install with wide set-up tolerances and calibration at the push of a button. TONiC's dynamic signal processing gives improved signal stability with ultra-low Sub-Divisional Error, high running speeds and compatibility with linear and rotary applications. https://www.renishaw.com/rfp The new RFP fringe probe is designed for inspection of freeform surfaces and complex geometry, rapidly delivering patches of surface data with a high point density. RFP fringe probe makes structured light inspection an integral part of your CMM measurement procedure, increasing the multi-sensor capability of the REVO 5-axis system. Unlike other non-contact structured light systems, the RFP probe does not require reference markers to stitch together data from different areas, as this is done automatically by the REVO system. Two software tools enhance the system's usability, providing an easy-to-use inspection planner for path planning and generating DMIS part programs from CAD, and digitiser software to collect data from parts without CAD models as part of a reverse engineering process.

Additive manufacturing, also called 3D printing, is a process used to create three-dimensional parts from a digital file. It usually involves building up, or solidifying, thin layers of material to create complete parts. The technology is able to produce complex shapes which cannot be produced by 'traditional' techniques such as casting, forging and machining. Additive manufacturing introduces new design possibilities, including opportunities to combine multiple components in production, minimise material use and reduce tooling costs. Using metal additive manufacturing (AM) techniques, the company can now manufacture smaller, more efficient drives and reduce cycle times from five and a half hours to just one. Domin collaborated with Renishaw to develop a new, stable, state-of-the-art technology suite for the fluid power sector. The company visited Renishaw's AM Solutions Centre in Stone, Staffordshire, UK, to develop their understanding of AM and understand how the technology could help them to produce highly efficient drives for customers.

The Renishaw RKLC encoder scale is a narrow, low cross-sectional area stainless steel tape scale featuring 20 μm or 40 μm pitch incremental graduations. RKLC scale is installed onto the axis substrate by a self-adhesive backing tape and it is mastered to the machine substrate, giving improved metrology, when the scale ends are rigidly fixed to the substrate.
